Supported formats
Which formats Quap reads, how it detects them, and what each one gets in the preview.
Quap detects the format of every document from its content and extension, highlights it, and picks the matching preview. You can override the detected format and the highlighting language from the Format and Language pickers in the footer.

Paste and let Quap decide
Paste anything into an empty tab. Quap recognises JSON, YAML, XML, SQL, CSV, Markdown, HTML and Base64 from the text itself, so you rarely need to choose. If it guesses wrong — a YAML file that is also valid text, say — pick the right format in the footer.
Spreadsheets
Open the workbook
Open or drop an .xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb or .ods file.
Choose a sheet
The Import spreadsheet dialog lists the sheets. Pick one and click Import.
Work with it as CSV
The sheet opens as a CSV tab. Use the Table preview, convert it to JSON, or ask the AI to filter and chart it.
Encodings
Quap reads and writes UTF-8 by default. For older files use File → Reopen with Encoding or File → Save with Encoding: UTF-8, UTF-8 with BOM, Windows-1252 and ISO-8859-9 (Turkish). The current encoding is shown in the footer. Large files (4 MiB and up) are UTF-8 only.
Large documents
Files of 4 MiB and more open as large files. They need Pro, and a few features work differently. See Large files.
