Save, encoding and recovery
Saving, extension checks, reverting, printing, and how Quap protects unsaved work.
Save
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Save | ⌘S |
| Save as | ⌘⇧S |
| Save all tabs | File → Save All |
| Save with another encoding | File → Save with Encoding |
| Discard changes | File → Revert File — goes back to the version on disk after confirming |
Extension check
If the content no longer matches the file's extension — you converted a .json file to YAML, say — saving shows Extension mismatch with three choices: Save anyway, Save as…, or Change to .yaml (renames the file to the right extension).
Recovery
Quap saves the content of every tab in the background while you work. If the app or your computer stops unexpectedly, your tabs — including untitled ones and unsaved changes — come back the next time you open Quap. Recovery data is deleted when you close a tab.
File → Print… prints the active document. Very large documents cannot be printed; try a smaller excerpt.
Undo
⌘Z and ⌘⇧Z undo and redo edits, formatting, transforms, sorting and AI applies — each as one step. On large files the undo history is kept on disk; see Editing large files.
