What stays on your computer, the few things that use the network, and what the AI assistant sends.
Quap is local-first: your documents are processed on your computer and are never uploaded by Quap.

There is no analytics, no advertising SDK and no telemetry.
The AI assistant in detail
- Cloud providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini) and your own server receive your instruction and, if allowed, key names. The instruction is sent as you typed it, so avoid pasting personal data into it.
- The built-in local model runs on your computer. Nothing is sent anywhere; key names are given to the local model automatically, values never.
- Keys and passwords for encryption, HMAC and JWT steps are entered in a local dialog and never sent to a model.
- Each plan shows Sent to provider, so you can see exactly what left your computer.
Removing your data
Quit Quap and delete Quap's data folder: ~/Library/Application Support/com.quap.app on macOS, %APPDATA%\com.quap.app on Windows. Local models can also be deleted one by one in Settings → AI Assistant; Clear all in Clipboard history and Clear history in AI Chat remove those individually.
