Where it applies
- Select text in the editor, or click a node in the Tree.
- Click an operation.
- If you clicked a value that has siblings with the same key, Quap asks for the scope:
- Selection — just this value.
- Same key — every value with the same key at the same depth (for example every
emailin an array of customers). The dialog shows how many will change. - Document — every matching value in the document.
- Click Apply. Tick Don't ask again to remember your choice.
A notice confirms Applied to N values. ⌘Z undoes the whole change.
Without a selection
UUID operations insert a new value at the cursor when nothing is selected. Other operations ask you to select text or a tree node first.
Operations that need a key
Encrypt, decrypt, HMAC and JWT ask for a password, secret or PEM key in a small dialog. The key is used for that run only and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Placement
- Settings → Edit toolbar — show it at the Top or on the Left, or hide it.
- The toolbar's own menu has Move to left / Move to top and Hide edit toolbar.
- The editor toolbar has a button to show it again.
The same operations are in the Transform and Crypto menus, the editor's right-click menu and the tree's context menu.
