Graph

See the shape of a document as connected cards, page through big arrays and zoom into any branch.

The Graph draws each object and array as a card connected to its parent, so you can see the structure of a document at a glance.

Move around

  • Drag the canvas to pan; scroll or pinch to zoom.
  • Click a card's expander to open its children.
  • Big arrays show 200 children at a time. Use the Previous and Next cards (for example Next 201–400) to page through them.

Show from here

Right-click a card and choose Show from here to redraw the graph starting at that node. A breadcrumb at the top shows where you are; click Document or any step in it to go back up.

Click the search button in the preview toolbar (or press ⌘F), type a key or value, and step through matches with the arrows. The counter shows current / total.

Limits

To stay smooth, the graph draws a limited number of cards. When a document is bigger, Quap shows Graph limit reached and leaves some branches out — use Show from here to draw the part you need. The footer of the graph shows the current node count and warns when it is near the limit.

The Graph works on structured documents such as JSON, YAML and XML, including large files: long lists are shown a page of items at a time.

Export

Use Export in the preview toolbar to save the graph as PNG, JPEG or PDF, or copy it to the clipboard. See Export.
