Large CSV, XML and YAML
What you can do with large CSV, XML and YAML files.
Large files need Quap Pro.
In large CSV, XML and YAML files, Quap finds the repeating records (the rows of a CSV, the <order> elements of an XML export, the items of a YAML list) and lets you work on them like on a small file. Everything around the records stays exactly as it was.
CSV
- Every row is a record. Jumping to any row is instant, even in files with millions of rows.
- The Tree and Table show the rows with the header names as keys.
- Right-click actions, the edit toolbar, Sort, the AI assistant, Analysis and converting to JSON or YAML all work.
- Undo keeps only what changed, so it stays fast.
- Not available yet: Clean.
XML
- Quap looks for the repeating element that holds your data, such as every
<order>inside<orders>. The rest of the document is left untouched. - The Tree shows the records; changing values, deleting, duplicating, removing duplicates and sorting all work.
- Records keep their indentation, and a record written on one line stays on one line.
- Format and minify work, and the XML declaration is kept.
- Convert to JSON, CSV or YAML, Analysis and code generation work.
- Not available yet: Clean and the AI assistant.
If an XML file has no repeating element, it opens in the plain editor.
YAML
- Quap uses the largest list in the file (the
- …items) as the records. - The Tree and the Sort dialog work as with XML.
- Changing values works the same way. Records you don't change keep their comments; a record you change loses the comments inside it.
- Convert to JSON or CSV and Analysis work.
- Not available yet: format and minify, Clean, sorting keys and the AI assistant. YAML files with several documents open in the plain editor.
