Project folders

Open a folder to browse its files, search across them and run batch jobs.

Open a folder when you work with many related files — API fixtures, config repos, data exports.

Open the folder

File → Open Folder… and pick a folder. The project tree appears on the left.

Browse

Click a file to open it in a tab. Supported files (JSON, YAML, XML, CSV, SQL, Markdown, text and more) open directly; others are shown but cannot be opened.

Close

Close folder removes the project tree. Open tabs stay open.

Search in project

Click Search in project in the title bar (or View → Search in Project). Type to search every file in the folder; each result shows the file and line. Click a result to open the file at that line.

Large folders

Project search works comfortably on folders with many large files too.

Batch jobs

Tools → Batch runs one action on several documents at once. It lists the files you have open in tabs:

  1. Tick the files (or the check-all box).
  2. Choose the Action: Format or Dedupe.
  3. Click Run. Quap reports how many tabs it updated. The changes are in the tabs, not yet on disk — use File → Save All to write them.

Batch works on regular tabs (under 4 MiB). To run a sequence of steps, record it with the Macro recorder and choose Replay on batch.
