Results, apply and undo
Review AI results with a diff, apply them, keep a copy, undo, and follow multi-step drafts.
The AI result view
When a plan finishes, the preview switches to AI result. It shows:
- Result — the new document in an editor you can still change (it says Edited if you do),
- Diff — the original and the result side by side, with N changes and Previous / Next change arrows,
- a summary comparing source and result: records, objects, lines and size.
The chat shows the plan as a card: each step with its outcome (for example 34 matches), and details for its parameters.
Decide
| Button | Effect |
|---|---|
| Apply | Writes the result into the document. Applied. Undo with ⌘Z. |
| Open in new tab | Keeps the original untouched and opens the result as a new document |
| Discard | Throws the result away |
| Run again | Runs the same plan again — useful after the document changed (The document changed after this result was made.) |
More actions has Copy, Cut, Paste, Select all, Copy all and Find / replace inside the result.
Drafts: several instructions, one apply
You can keep refining before you apply. Each new instruction works on the latest unapplied result, and the chat shows ✎ Unapplied draft: changes accumulate until Apply. When it looks right, Apply once.
Undo and redo
The Undo / redo buttons in the chat step through AI changes — both applied changes and draft steps. ⌘Z in the editor also undoes an applied result. On large files, undo is kept on disk; see Large files.
When something goes wrong
- No matches. Did you mean one of these fields? — the plan pointed at a field that does not exist; Quap lists similar ones. Click one or rephrase.
- Couldn't understand the request. Try rephrasing it. — try a shorter or more explicit instruction, or a suggestion bubble.
- The first plan was rejected and fixed automatically — informational; the shown plan is the fixed one.
- Copy report on a plan copies the instruction, plan parameters, step results, error and short input / output excerpts — handy for a bug report. Review it before sharing.
Stop cancels a plan while it is planning or running.
