What Pro unlocks
Open, scroll and search files of any size, even multi-gigabyte database dumps and log exports, without slowing your computer down. Change and mask data across the whole file with undo, and compare two large files. In the AI assistant, plans run all their steps and you can save them as recipes.
What stays free
Everything else, for files under 4 MiB: the editor, tree, graph, table and charts, conversions, SQL tools, code generation, compare and diff, hashing and encryption, and the AI assistant for the first three steps of each plan. quap-mcp is free too.
MCP is free
Connecting Cursor or Claude Desktop to Quap doesn't need Pro. Your AI editor gets Quap's tools for formatting, conversion, SQL and more.

quap-mcpHow the license works
After checkout you get a license key by email. Paste it into Settings → License and you're done; there is no account to create. Use it on up to three computers, and free one up from Settings when you switch computers. Activation works offline too.

Questions
- What does Pro add?
- Files of 4 MiB and larger, every step of your AI plans, and saved AI recipes. Everything else is free.
- Is it a subscription?
- No. You pay once and keep it. It works on up to three computers, and you can move it to a new one from Settings.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Your license key arrives by email; paste it into Settings → License.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes. Quap checks your license from time to time when you're online. If it hasn't been able to check for 30 days, Pro features pause until the next check.
- Do I need Pro for MCP?
- No. quap-mcp is free for everyone.
